Open Question: Sister treats me like crap? Should I still give her the good gift I bought?

I didn't want to ask this, but I am hurting and can't talk to anyone about this for some reason. My sister treats me like trash. Not all the time, but when she feels like it she is really mest up and mean, calling me names and stuff. Basically, she treats me the way a bad person would treat a stray dog-- or at least that's what I feel. She is going to turn 27 and she still acts like this! Like flips out on me randomly, "just because." People say it's because she's "jealous," but come on, she's my older sister. Anyways, she is having a get together in our home (I live with her and my parents- we are a tight knit family) for her birthday and she still hasn't talked to me and continues to act horrible with me, not in talking terms, but like slamming doors and stuff when I am talking to my mom. So I got her this really pretty gift, but I will feel SOOoo stupid if I give it to her because I am treated worse than dirt. According to my parents, I have to get her something (long story k). Should I just get her a little bath set that's a couple bucks? BTW I have to get something for her Birthday because it would be rude. Please no, "Don't get her anything," Just tell me what you would do. Give her the expensive jewelry gift or the bath set. Pick one. Thanks.

So me and my cousins who haven't seen each other in a while are all going to be spending time together this halloween. They planned to be the Jersey Shore Cast (Which i don't really know the show that good since i never watched it) but for the fun of it am going along with their idea. My cousins already claimed Snooki, Jwow, and Sammi so they said the only person left is Angelina. She talked to him a couple of times, so now he follows her everywhere and tells her that he loves her. She's told him she doesn't like him like that, but his behaviour hasn't changed. It was creepy to begin with, but it's been several months now and he's not relenting. Anything you say seems to blow over his head, and my friend's too nice to say it harshly. He told me what it was - genuine pearl earrings and a silver necklace. I told my friend, and we don't know what she should do now. He doesn't understand that you don't buy expensive jewelry for someone you barely know. She doesn't want to accept it (what will her parents say?), but doesn't know what to tell him (he can hardly return it to China), and in any case, he's not going to keep it. Open Question: NOSE PIERCING PROBLEM!? D:?

okay. because i'm stupid, my corckscrew nose stud, 18 gauge, one week old nose piercing fell out yesterday when i was pulling my shirt up over my head when i was changing for school... i panicked, and tried to put it back in right away because i heard nose piercings close very fast. i didn't get it in, and my nose swelled a little, and bled a bit. it effing HURT. the curved part would go in, but it wouldn't come out from the bottom. i think it was because my nose is swollen? or maybe my nose is abnormally thick or something. so anyways. i had to go to school, so i just stuck in a 20gauge (I THINK IT'S 20) earring in there so it wouldn't close... what do you think i should do? the earring is comfortable, and i do not want to attempt to put in the 18 gauge in anymore, or it will irritate my nose and hurt again, and plus, my nose hole shrunk already to a 20 gauge... since a lot of nose piercing jewelries are 20 gauge, should i just leave the earring in until it completely heals then buy a 20 gauge? and also, why wouldn't the curved part of the corkscrew go through the bottom? will the same thing happen with an L shaped nose piercing? like... will the first straight part of the L shape go through the bottom...? did the piercer pierce it in the wrong spot? i also put in a straight nose stud i got from ardene's, (not a bone, just straight.) and it goes in fine, but it's TOO DANG SHORT. it's the 'bend to fit' nose piercing, but i can't even bend it, cuz it barely goes through the other side of my nose.. help... :/ please and thanks... i just dunno what to do. :P do i absolutely have to let it close up? :( it was red and swollen yesterday, but today it's not red or bleeding anymore, or that swollen at all... thanks a lot guys :) so i should keep the piercing in until it heals... than change the earring into a proper nose stud? how long does it take to heal? since i already did some damage? p.s.18 is bigger than 20 the corkscrew !? but i can't put it in!!! and my nose already shrunk a lot! would a 18 gauge fit? and my other nose studs are too short. plus they are exactly like an earring? as in the long metal part... the part you put in your nose. i put the earring in because it was longer than my nose studs.

I am hoping you can give me some sound advice. Up until last year, I was the single mother of an 11 year old girl. She has never had contact with her father, and we don’t receive any financial support. I have recently married a wonderful man, who has a 14 year old daughter of his own that my daughter and I absolutely adore. He is a great dad, spends time with her, pays support, helps her mom with all of the little extras that she needs. I don’t want him to stop doing any of these things as I want our kids to feel that they are absolutely equal in our eyes. The problem is that, because I receive no help from my daughters father, I feel that I have no choice but to spend extra on my daughter at times. Being that I am the soul provider for her, I am the only one that buys her clothes, jewelry, toys, games, etc. I feel that my husband is resenting this and I don’t know how to explain to him that it will never really be an “equal” thing. I don’t even really know if I am explaining it to you right! A perfect example, I guess, would be school clothes. I am planning on spending a few hundred on my daughter, as she has grown so much over the summer that nothing fits her anymore. We are helping to pay for an expensive calculator ($300) for his daughter, and I’d like to give her $50 for some new clothes (on top of our regular child support), but he thinks we should spend the same amount on her school clothes that I do on my daughters….even though her mom took her shopping last week and got her tons of stuff. She is very well taken care of and wants for nothing. What do I do? Am I wrong? I should add, that there is an order in place for support from my daughters father, but being that he disappeared, there is nothing anyone can do to enforce it.

I bought a diamond engagement ring many years ago for $2500. I had it appraised 10 years later for $750. I'm pretty sure the original jeweler ripped me off - in talking with a couple people after the fact, it seems he had a bad reputation. It makes me wonder, though: Suppose the appraiser swapped the original stone for a cheaper one? How would I know? When I had the diamond appraised, the appraiser took the ring, put it into a small ziploc bag, and said he'd get back to me in a couple days. In retrospect, I wonder if I should have kept the ring in my possession and made an appointment.
