Open Question: Do Jewish women dress a certain way?

My mom said jewish women have their own distinctive style of dress. What is it? She was not insulting it as many of her friends are Jewish she just said it is usually very 'glam' with glitter and sparkles, diamond/sparkly jewelry, hair highlights, sometimes bright makeup,etc. Is this true?

I'm looking for somewhere to sell my diamond jewelry. I have an old diamond engagement ring and a ton of old diamond earrings from my past relationship. Yes, before you ask they are all real diamonds. lol I don't want to deal with the local pawn shop as I don't think that I would get what the diamonds are worth. Open Question: Why do women REALLY hate porno?

This question is NOT for those of you who DO like it so please stop reading now if so. I just answered someone who finds it morally objectionable and probably sees all men as pigs for liking it, and I'm sure she's in the majority among women. I have 2 main theories for why women (in general) hate it: Either they feel it objectifies women and sex, something they can only see as sacred since it provokes such strong emotions and it can get THEM pregnant, or it makes them feel inferior or self-conscious in some way compared to these young and "perfect porno women". Since women mostly masturbate with their eyes closed (if at all), and men mostly prefer a visual stimuli, there's no hope of traversing THIS gap in understanding. And as I just stated in my other answer, women don't have testosterone coursing through their veins, a chemical which makes one THINK ABOUT SEX ALOT!! Assuming the women in question don't hate sex, men, certain acts such as oral sex, or have issues with men being dominant in bed...what else is there? Is it the fact that the vast majority of these "actresses" were obviously abused as children? Ok. If you find this so objectionable, how about all the murder and dismemberment that your pretty diamond ring brought to the horribly poor counties in Africa where it was mined? Give me a real reason. A SMART reason. An articulate reason. Comparing yourself to porno actors is no different than comparing yourself to models or legitimate actors. And as for sex being sacred...guess what? It can be alot of things. How about when you manipulate your BF to do or buy you something (like diamond jewelry) using sex? What's that? Just sayin' @Johna P: Watch European porno. NOT THE SAME!

I took my engagement ring (family heirloom) to get an insurance appraisal and the appraiser used his little jewelry magnifier and told me my diamond was mined before 1900. How did he know this? I did not pay a lot for the appraisal.

Open Question: Need help with article I'm writing for work?

I work in a small locally owned jewelry store. The local newspaper we advertise with does a special "how to" section once a year before the start of Christmas season (in October). Lastbyear we did "how to buy a diamond" where we covered the four Cs and romantic aspect of diamond buying. It was a pretty successful article, and generated a lot of interest in our store (people coming in for more information on diamonds). Well my boss told me to write an article again this year, and I'm not sure what to write about. He said to write it in a way it drums up Christmas sales like the one last year did. Any suggestions on a jewelry "how to" article that will bring people into a store? I was thinking about one on how to give a gift of jewelry, and include the sneaky tips we give men all the time for figuring out their wives finger size, style she may like, stone she wants ect... Without ruining the surprise. Does that sound good? Help, any suggestions would be great, I design jewelry and explain about stones for a living, not write informative articles.

Open Question: Do guys give girls Diamond ring when it's not an engagement ring?

So i been seen this guy for 7 months almost and we get a long very good together :). I was not expecting Diamond ring it's a flower with 7 little Diamond is that normal?. He said he made shore he did not buy me am engagement ring and he said i am one of thew people who he bought jewelry for. So what do you think??. Open Question: How to tell what carat of diamond I am looking for?

Recently, my home was broken into and all the jewelry that my mom had left me was taken, along with mine. As you can imagine, the police have came up with nothing. I was goofing off online and found a setting of the ring that she had custom made which was one of the pieces taken. My question is, how do I go about researching diamonds that will fit the setting. All the add says is that the 2.25mm round. That is all that is said. After researching, I have found that most stones are sold by carat, not measurement. How do I go about figuring out what carat that size diamond would be. The add mentions nothing about depth.
